Cardiac arrhythmias, angina pectoris, vasoconstriction with hypertension, flushing, sweating, acne vulgaris, nausea, decreased urination due to vasoconstriction of renal arteries. restlessness, confusion, insomnia, mild euphoria, mania/hallucinations, delusions, formication, paranoia, hostility, panic, agitation, dyspnea, pulmonary edema, dizziness, headache, tremor, hyperglycemic reactions and dry mouth.

Ephedrin Contraindications/Precautionary Measures

Ephedrine should not be used in conjunction with certain antidepressants and should be used with caution in patients with inadequate fluid replacement, impaired adrenal function, hypoxia, hypercapnia, acidosis, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, prostatic hypertrophy, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, during pregnmancy and lactation.

Overdosage

Seizures, irregular heartbeat, heart attack, strokes if taken in large doses.
